What you are seeing is indeed the future of the RAAF. More than some think. If the F-35 falls on its face, this aircraft will fill out the rest of the RAAF fighter force. Forget what faulty Defence White Papers say. Forget defective DCPs. And forget what top leaders say on the podium when accepting this aircraft. And remember how the Super Hornet got into RAAF service—on a whim by a Defence Minister that fell for some PowerPoint slides and stated that it was a “no-brainer”, Australia is a “Hornet country”.
