Saw Balibo at the movies. Academy award winning stuff if it was allowed to be although it is an independent film. Because it is independent it doesn’t play everywhere. I was lucky enough to see it at the theater.
It is about 5 Australian journalists that get killed by the Indonesian invasion of East Timor in 1975.
Get it on DVD if you can when you can.

Congrats on posting this one Eric, it no doubt means little to non Australians but deserves to be highlighted and publicised. Balibo demnonstrates all that is disappointing about the human condition, what happened at Balibo serves to emphasise the consequences of not standing up for and defending what is right, decent and honourable. All those who failed to do what was right, decent and honourable forever stand condemned by their acquiesence to this despicable act. Demonstrates graphically what can happen when people turn a bling eye and the terible consequences of cowadice.
As a postcript Cheney and his supporters and sympathisers would fit very neatly into the latter group.
