This video is mostly about the USAFs long arm of the law-the F-15E Strike Eagle, with a few non-Strike Eagle clips thrown in. With everything else going bonkers in the USAF fighter roadmap, the long range Strike Eagle (which comes off the assembly line with 12k-15k hour airframe life) is one of the most important aircraft in our tool bag. Even more so when it gets AESA upgrades.
The author of this video makes a lot of Miami Vice tribute videos. So if this video makes you want to wear 80′s cloths, that is the reason. For me, the best music of the F-15 is it’s startup sequence with the jet-fuel-starter (JFS) spooling up; the first engine engaging; the JFS spooling down; the first engine winding up; the JFS spooling up again; the second engine starting up; the JFS spooling down; the second engine getting up to speed. Now THAT is music.
This is the fighter Australia should have!!!!! The Super Hornet can not get near it!
yup never understood why we go for carrier frames (and all the extra weight they carry) rather than this – esp given the vast landmass we are – and it would have given us a lot more future-proof than the 18 will…
Same visual from that video (edited in a different order with a few minor changes), but with better (and more appropriate) music: “Where Eagles Fly,” by Sammy Hagar. Also, the Sammy Hagar one has quite a few shots of maintainers doing what they do best, which I can appreciate. Hell, even the loaders get a few shots…no AMMO though
Icing on the cake? It features gratuitous amounts of jet noise on the audio track.
FWIW, I’ve tried to google it, but can’t find it. I made a strat page post in early 08 with a conceptualized super Eagle F-15OZ graphic (my first F-15 cranked delta configured graphic made (back in 07, unfortunately deleted)… for depiction purposes only.
My current proposal is to stretch the ‘Eagle’ by around 8′ +/-, add a cranked delta + a canard or even a swing-wing-canard concept… add inward-canted vertical all-moving tails, as a common USAF/USN carrier operable YF-15R (interceptor, EA, Recon, Strike) affordable FB-22 that shoulda been the FB-23.
Call it a day. Respects.
Well if each and every one of us can write some letters, we can send them off to Tony Abbott and I’m hoping his new Defence Minister (if he wins which I hope for!) who I’d like to be there can be very suggestive. This guy is the guy we need. He is Australia’s Churchill. Like Howard knew Industrial Relations and law, this guy knows Defence. You probably have guessed him by now. We might even be able to save the PIGs too……… I dream big guys! But the Liberals with the right people do so much for Defence. Defence has never had it so good by the end of Howard’s run…….. Rudd is now at war with them.
