The U.K and France, carriers dying #military

France’s only carrier is in for repair right after trying to go on a deployment.

The U.K carrier situation has a sign on it, “going out of business until 2020.” For that it is best to wait until 2020 to see if the U.K. has anything you would call a military. You can bet with the MOD pinheads who have to justify their job by cutting things, there will be yet another alignment in a few years claiming the forces are too fat.

At this stage for those that want “Team America; WORLD POLICE”, it is going to be even more difficult when there is conflict and the the big guy you want to call on is dead broke and can’t or won’t show up.

And a vote in November (no matter who you vote for) won’t change much. We are way past that.

  1. Funny the DeGaulle is not seaworthy. KInda fits with the real DeGaulle’s reputation. He wasn’t much of a soldier and was a constant PITA to the allies in WW2.

It’s very strange the west doesn’t seem to be able to build ships anymore. Our recent launches have turned out to be less than glorious, with the exception of Newport News Shipbuilding products. The yard in Mississippi that used to belong to Litton, not Northrop-Grumman, seems to be able to take good Steel and Aluminum and make it worth less that when it came from the mill. San Antonio is a typical example.

  2. The problems with the San Antonio class are the result of the Navy awarding the original contract to a shipyard in NOLA that they shouldn’t have even accepted the bid from.
